The SentriGuard® lockbox:

  • Works with the SentriKey® Real Estate app. (SentriCards cannot be used on this lockbox.)
  • Has a bigger key compartment, that opens from the bottom, which accommodates various types of keys (key cards, key fobs, skeleton keys, etc.).
  • Allows you to grant temporary access to open a lockbox using a FlexCode™. Flex Codes™ can have a duration of 30 minutes up to 31 days. (Previous lockbox versions support a one-day code to open a lockbox.)
  • Has a stronger, more secure shackle that can only be inserted into the lockbox one way. When looking at the front of the lockbox, the longer side fits into the left side.
  • Has a longer battery life.

Take Ownership of a Lockbox with a QR Code Using the SentriKey® Real Estate App

1.       Launch the app on your device.

2.       Tap the hamburger menu.

3.       Tap Take / Remove Ownership.

4.       Tap the Scan QR Code button.

5.       Scan the QR code on the back of the lockbox.

6.       A success message displays to acknowledge ownership of the lockbox. Click Done.

Take Ownership of a Lockbox Using the SentriKey® Real Estate App

1.       Launch the app on your device.

2.       Tap the hamburger menu.

3.       Tap My Lockboxes.

4.       Tap Take / Remove Ownership.

5.       On the lockbox keypad, press ENT to ‘wake up’ the lockbox. This establishes a connection with the app. You’ll see a flashing blue light on the lockbox.

6.       In the app, enter your PIN and tap Take/Remove Ownership, or use Touch ID/Face ID.

7.       The lockbox is now updated with your settings and is in your inventory.

8.       On the popup screen, tap OK to complete the process.

Open a Lockbox Key Compartment Using NFC and the SentriKey® Real Estate App

The SentriGuard® lockbox can be opened using a special kind of technology called NFC (Near-Field Communication). This is a feature in many smartphones that allows phones and other devices to communicate with each other.

1.       Launch the app on your device.

2.       From the home screen, tap the Touch-N-Show™ button.

    • The first time you use this feature you will get a message notifying you that Touch-N-Show™ is only available on this model of lockbox. Touch Continue.

3.       Tap phone to the lockbox.

4.       Tap the pop-up notification to open in SentriKey® Real Estate app.

5.       Tap phone to lockbox again.

6.       Key compartment opens.

Open a Lockbox Key Compartment Using Bluetooth® and the SentriKey® Real Estate App

1.       Launch the app on your device.

2.       On the lockbox keypad, press ENT.

3.       In the app, enter your PIN.

4.       Key compartment opens.

Assign a FlexCode™ to Release a Lockbox Shackle Using the SentriKey® Real Estate App

If you are a lockbox owner, or if you have privileges through a team or Broker-sharing, you can create a Shackle Release FlexCode™. This temporary access code is used to release the shackle on a lockbox and is ideal for use by other agents who need to move/remove a lockbox.

This temporary code can be activated for a one-day period.

1.       Launch the app on your device.

2.       Tap the hamburger menu.

3.       Tap My Lockboxes.

4.       Tap Release Shackle.

5.       Tap the Get Release Shackle Code button.

6.       Select the lockbox from the list.

7.       Select a Date for the code to be valid.

8.       Tap the Get Shackle Release Code button.

9.       Enter your PIN. Tap OK.

10.   The code displays on the screen.

11.   To share the shackle release FlexCode™ (and instructions to use it) with the recipient, tap the Share icon at the top right of your screen. You can share the code via email or text.

Important note when inserting shackle: The shackle on the SentriGuard® lockbox only fits into the lockbox one way. When looking at the front of the lockbox, the longer side fits into the left side.

Release a Lockbox Shackle Using the SentriKey® Real Estate App

1.       Launch the app on your device.

2.       Tap the hamburger menu.

3.       Tap My Lockboxes.

4.       Tap Release Shackle.

5.       On the lockbox keypad, press ENT to ‘wake up’ the lockbox. This establishes a connection with the app.

6.       In the app, enter your PIN then tap Release Shackle.

7.       A message displays reminding you to hold the bottom of the lockbox. Tap OK.

8.       The lockbox motor begins turning and the shackle begins to detach. Hold the lockbox firmly to ensure it doesn’t drop to the ground.

9.       A success message displays. Tap Done.

Important Note when inserting shackle:  The shackle on the SentriGuard® lockbox only fits into the lockbox one way. When looking at the front of the lockbox, the longer side fits into the left side.

Assign a FlexCode™ to Open a Lockbox Key Compartment Using the SentriKey® Real Estate App

3.       Tap My Lockboxes.

4.       Tap Get Access Code.

5.       Select the lockbox from the list.

    • FlexCodes™ are only available with SentriGuard® lockboxes. Previous generations of lockboxes will only have One Day Codes available.

6.       Enter the name (and contact information, optional) of the person who will get the FlexCode™ in the Assigned To field.

7.       Select a Start Date and Time for the code to be valid.

8.       Select an End Date and Time.

9.       Tap Get FlexCode™.

10.   Enter your PIN. Tap OK.

11.   The 13-digit FlexCode™ displays on the screen.

12.   To share the FlexCode™ (and instructions to use it) with the recipient, tap the Share icon at the top right of your screen. You can share the code via email or text.

    • Informational Only: The first time the recipient uses the code they must use all 13 digits to gain access. Subsequent visits to the lockbox, during the valid period, can be accessed by only entering the first five digits of the code. (All 13 digits will continue to work during the valid period as well)

Assign an Access Code (FlexCode™) to a SentriGuard® Lockbox Using the SentriKey® Real Estate Website

If you’re a lockbox owner, or if you have privileges through a team or Broker-sharing, you can create a temporary access code. This code is used to open a lockbox and is ideal for use by other agents, homeowners, and contractors who need access to a listing but are not SentriLock members.

This temporary code can be activated for a minimum of 30 minutes up to a maximum of 31 days.

1.       On the Main Menu, click Add Access Code.

2.       Find the listing for the lockbox by clicking Select.

3.       Click the radio button next to the desired listing, then click Submit Changes.

4.       The lockbox’s serial number displays. Select the Date and Time that the code will be valid. Then click Generate Codes.

    • You can activate this temporary code for a minimum of 30 minutes up to a maximum of 31 days.

5.       In the Assigned To text box, type the name of the person who will get the temporary access code. Then click Assign.

6.       The 13-digit Access Code is assigned to the designated person. Click Save Changes.

    • Informational Only:  The first time the recipient uses the code they must use all 13 digits to gain access. Subsequent visits to the lockbox, during the valid period, can be accessed by only entering the first five digits of the code. (All 13 digits will continue to work during the valid period as well)

7.       A confirmation message displays.

View Access Codes (FlexCodes™) to a SentriGuard® Lockbox Using the SentriKey® Real Estate Website

You can search for and view Access Codes that were generated for a lockbox you own or one for which you have ownership permission.

1.       On the Main Menu, click View Access Codes.

2.      The Access Codes screen display your listings. Under the Date Valid column, click the date next to the desired listing to view the code and its details. (You can click the arrow next to Date Valid to sort the access codes.)
