What Makes SentriLock a “Best Places to Work” … and How That Results in a World-Class Experience For Our Customers

SentriLock, LLC, is honored that, once again, our employees have ranked us as a top workplace in the Cincinnati area. The Cincinnati Business Courier “Best Places to Work” designation means that SentriLock’s people-first culture commitment continues to resonate in our actions. We’re proud to have been ranked as a top workplace in 2016, 2017, 2019, and again in 2020.

A People-First Culture

SentriLock’s commitment to a people-first culture officially began six years ago as the strategy for how our organization would grow while maintaining our special culture and customer-focused approach to business. The following four areas of focus reflect our people-first culture:

Employee Engagement and Recognition

Employee engagement and recognition begins with our hiring selection and onboarding process and extends into our monthly company-wide rituals. Employee-led committees organize and lead engagement events and activities, solve business challenges, and help select future team members. Employees are also in charge of our recognition programs. Employee input and nominations help spotlight the great work and talents that team members bring to the organization.

Intentionally designing opportunities for employees to take an active role in creating and leading the organization drives pride and ownership of what we’re working toward – and strengthens the team bond.

Communication

Communication is a vital component of our best place to work culture. We strive for transparency and an open-door policy across the organization – sharing the good news along with the bad. Practices like a weekly video update from our CEO, quarterly town hall (all-hands) meetings where we present business updates, including financials, and an anonymous Ask-a-Question feature that’s routed to and addressed by the executive committee are ways we foster a culture of open and ongoing communication.

Rewarding Work Environment

A rewarding work environment isn’t just the facility and amenities that SentriLock offers, but also the benefits we provide. We’re proud of our corporate headquarters that offers a free on-site fitness facility, individual work stations, and multiple spaces for collaboration and relaxation.

Benefits, meanwhile, include comprehensive insurance options, a matching 401(k) program, a robust health and wellness program, a leadership program, and generous paid time off. We even offer an annual bonus – a SentriCation – to cover the cost of a vacation to reward tenure with the company. Employees also receive a paid day every year to volunteer with an organization of their choice, or they can donate the value of that time to a charitable organization.

Employees are also encouraged to direct their professional development, ongoing learning, and training, and are asked to complete 30 hours of training annually in areas in which they’re interested in gaining more knowledge.

Core Values

Each associate is empowered to do the right thing based on an understanding of, and appreciation for, how we operate our business. These values ensure that we’re all working with the same mind-set and toward the same goals, which creates an empowering atmosphere of collaboration and respect.

Putting the Customer First … Always

Our people-first culture positively impacts our customers as well, because we’re focused on service and doing the right thing. We’ve witnessed our customer metrics improve alongside our people metrics. In 2015, our customer satisfaction scores after a phone call to our Support department averaged a 92 percent satisfaction rate, which is impressive, but we’ve managed to improve that result. This year, our customer satisfaction score is a 96 percent satisfaction rate. This is just one of many examples of how our operational metrics are stronger today than ever.
