Showings on homes with SentriLock lockboxes were down 12% in February compared to one year ago, according to the NAR SentriLock February 2022 Home Showings Report by the National Association of REALTORS® Research Group.
SentriLock lockboxes are used in roughly one-third of home showings across the nation. Every month, SentriLock, LLC provides its parent company, the National Association of REALTORS®, with data on the number of properties shown by a REALTOR®. Foot traffic has a strong correlation with future contracts and home sales, so it can be viewed as a peek ahead at sales trends two to three months into the future.
- Showings on homes with SentriLock lockboxes decreased in February compared to one year ago. Nationally, SentriLock home showings were down 12% year-over-year. SentriLock showings totaled 699,156 for February.
- Showings decreased year-over-year in virtually every region. Decreases were seen in the Northeast Region (-56%); Midwest Region (-25%); and West Region (-17%), while the South Region increased (8%).
- The number of active REALTORS® showing homes increased 3% year-over-year.
- The average number of showings per REALTOR® decreased 14% year-over-year.
