THIRD PARTY INTEGRATION
FAQ

Any association or MLS that utilizes third-party appointment services such as Showing Time or Broker Bay integrated with the SentriLock lockbox solution. This will also affect buyer’s agents who are not credentialed SentriLock agents who have been relying on showing service provided One Day Codeto access properties.

On October 1, 2023, SentriLock will no longer provide a direct API integration to these products that allow a buyer’s agent to receive SentriLock’s One Day Codes through Showing Time and Broker Bay showing services. We are requiring these third-party showing service vendors to begin using a new integration that provides lockbox access through SentriLock’s SentriConnect® App.

Listing agents will still be able to personally create One Day Codes and FlexCodes® to allow property access using our SentriKey® Real Estate mobile app. These codes can be texted or emailed to a buyer’s agent, affiliates, or any other authorized and confirmed user who requires access.

Listing agents who are still seeking a more automated method, will still be able to utilize their current preferred showing service to create access via our free SentriConnect® app provided those vendors make the necessary changes to their systems.

Of course! We are simply requiring these appointment services to use a new integration that provides non-credentialed SentriLock users access via SentriConnect instead of One Day Codes.  Listing agents of these services can also create and text those codes to allow property access, or use the simplest, most secure method by using SentriLock’s SentriConnect®

The SentriConnect® app was developed to give easy access for agents in neighboring boards and brokerages, contractors, painters, appraisers, photographers, and more—anyone who would need secure and temporary access to a property. This is a more secure alternative to code access, giving administrators peace of mind.

The most important reason for making this change is to tighten the security around showings. We know that sometimes these codes are being issued to anyone who requests one from the showing service call center staff without fulling vetting that person.  Some criminals have figured out a way to trick these services’ call center staff, resulting in theft from the property. When we first allowed these One Day Codes, showing services used their call center to validate agents accessing the lockbox were licensed and that is often no longer the case. This severely compromises the security of the property.

Using SentriConnect® restricts access to the property to an approved time frame and provides data back to the listing agent as to who entered the home and how long they stayed. All accesses are traceable to the user, providing an extra layer of security in knowing who has accessed the home.
